The Houses of Hope Africa were born out of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. Local Police were trying to drop orphaned children off at the churches with whom we worked. The churches were not equipped to do residential care of these precious children. The pastors themselves asked if ALD would assit them in this daunting task. The first home was built in 2008 and opened in 2009 in South Africa. Since then we have built two more homes in Whunga Zimbabwe (2010) and Maputo, Mozambique (2021).
